This study examines how generative AI may influence the linguistic identity of foreign language learners. It focuses on learners’ confidence, autonomy, and personal voice, while comparing digital simulation with human communication. The study concludes that AI is most effective when used as a supportive tool rather than a substitute for real human interaction.
