This article explores the complexities involved in accurately rendering oil and gas terms, focusing on lexical gaps, conceptual differences, and the frequent use of abbreviations and acronyms. Through a detailed analysis, the article underscores the critical need for a deep understanding of both linguistic and technical knowledge to effectively convey meaning and ensure comprehensibility for the target audience. The findings emphasize the significance of developing specialized glossaries and resources to support translators in this highly specialized domain.
