Teaching written translation offers a valuable educational experience, providing students with linguistic, analytical, and cross-cultural skills essential for effective communication. This article examines both the advantages and challenges in teaching written translation. While translation fosters language proficiency, cultural awareness, and critical thinking, educators often face difficulties due to varying student proficiency levels, cultural and linguistic diversity, and the need for specialized skills. This paper explores these aspects in depth and discusses strategies to optimize the teaching and learning of written translation.
