Ushbu maqola tarixni gumanitar fanlarning bir tarmog‘i sifatida tushunishning ahamiyatini yoritishga qaratilgan bo‘lib, talabalarga voqealarni tarixiy bilimlar nuqtai nazaridan baholashga yordam berish zarurligini ta’kidlaydi. Unda tarixni o‘qitishning asl maqsadi, o‘qituvchi faoliyatining motivlari va samarali o‘qitish usullarining xilma-xilligi o‘rganiladi. Muhokama qilingan metodlar: (1) faol o‘quv vaziyatlari: munozara, namoyish etish va simulyatsiya; (2) maxsus mavzular yondashuvi; (3) birlamchi manba materiallaridan foydalanish; (4) tarixiy filmlardan foydalanish; (5) kutubxonadan foydalanish; va (6) tarixiy adabiyotlardan foydalanish.
