Annotasiya
In English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms, teacher talk plays a crucial role in shaping the quality of instruction and student engagement. Among various aspects of teacher discourse, task instructions are particularly significant as they guide learners’ understanding of classroom activities and influence their participation. This paper explores the linguistic and pragmatic features of teacher task instructions and examines how these features affect learner engagement. Drawing on discourse analysis and classroom interaction studies, the paper highlights key strategies that can improve instructional clarity and foster active student involvement.
