This study explores the principles, methods, and effectiveness of language learners’ knowledge assessment in modern educational contexts. It analyzes traditional and alternative assessment approaches, including formative and summative assessment, performance-based evaluation, and digital assessment tools. The research highlights the importance of aligning assessment methods with communicative competence and learner-centered approaches. The findings suggest that a balanced assessment system integrating multiple evaluation strategies enhances language proficiency, learner motivation, and overall academic performance.
