This article examines the role of linguistic research in foreign language teaching methodology. It analyzes how different branches of linguistics such as phonetics, lexicology, grammar and pragmatics influence the process of language teaching. The study also explores how the results of linguistic research can be used to improve learners’ communicative competence. The findings demonstrate that the integration of linguistic approaches into language teaching helps learners better understand language structures and apply them effectively in real communication.
