This article explores the intricate relationship between students' learning styles, their expressed learning preferences, and the development of essential independent learning skills within contemporary educational paradigms. It investigates how an awareness and strategic alignment of these individual cognitive and behavioral patterns can significantly impact a student's capacity for self-regulated learning and academic success. By synthesizing current research, we argue that fostering an environment which acknowledges and adapts to diverse learning approaches is crucial for cultivating autonomous learners equipped for lifelong learning. The findings underscore the importance of integrating personalized learning strategies to empower students to take ownership of their educational journey.
