This study examines modern methods of teaching foreign languages and investigates their effectiveness compared with traditional grammar-translation approaches. The significance of the topic stems from the rapid transformations taking place in language education, driven by technological progress and the growing need for genuine communicative competence among learners. The research aims to analyze communicative, task-based, and technology-integrated approaches, and to connect them with linguistic theories that explain second language acquisition, such as Krashen's Input Hypothesis and Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory. The study adopts a descriptive analytical method, applying content analysis to a sample of studies published between 2020 and 2026 and indexed in Google Scholar and other peer-reviewed academic databases. The analysis shows that communicative and task-based methods raise learners' communicative competence, and that integrating artificial intelligence and digital learning applications produces a medium to large educational effect according to recent meta-analyses. The study recommends adopting blended instructional models that combine human interaction with digital support, alongside training teachers to employ these tools efficiently.
