This article is devoted to the scientific and theoretical analysis of the main differences and similarities between creative writing and academic writing. Throughout the article, the main purposes, styles, language features, text structures, and communicative functions of these writing types were examined based on scholarly sources. The findings showed that creative writing is mainly focused on imagination and emotional expression, whereas academic writing is based on scientific evidence, logical reasoning, and formal style. The results of the study indicate that learning these forms of writing is one of the important factors in developing writing skills.
