Teaching English to young learners is a crucial area of language education that focuses on introducing English in a way that is engaging, age-appropriate, and psychologically suitable for children. Unlike adult learners, children acquire language most effectively through play, interaction, repetition, and meaningful contextual input rather than formal grammatical instruction. This article explores the main principles, methods, and classroom practices involved in teaching English to young learners, emphasizing the importance of multisensory learning, learner-centered instruction, and positive emotional environment. It also highlights the role of the teacher as a facilitator who guides learning through interactive activities such as songs, games, storytelling, and Total Physical Response (TPR). The study concludes that effective teaching at the primary level depends on creating a supportive, motivating, and interactive classroom atmosphere that fosters both language development and positive attitudes toward learning English.
