Social media has become an essential part of modern life, especially among students. It significantly influences the way individuals communicate, think, and express their ideas in written form. This study examines the impact of social media on academic writing skills, focusing on both its positive and negative aspects. On the one hand, social media provides access to a wide range of information, enhances creativity, and encourages self-expression. On the other hand, it promotes the use of informal language, reduces grammatical accuracy, and weakens critical thinking abilities. The research highlights the importance of maintaining a balance between social media use and academic writing practices in order to achieve effective communication and high-quality writing.
