This article investigates the linguistic features of the device of repetition in English and Uzbek, with a focus on its structural, functional, and stylistic aspects. Repetition, as a universal linguistic phenomenon, plays a significant role in enhancing expressiveness, emphasizing ideas, and maintaining cohesion in discourse. The study compares the usage of repetition in both languages through the analysis of literary texts, everyday speech, and media discourse. It identifies similarities and differences in forms such as lexical, syntactic, and semantic repetition, and explores the cultural and communicative functions they fulfill in each language. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of how repetition operates within different linguistic systems and offers insights for translation studies, language teaching, and cross-cultural communication.
